Old Bloomington Warehouse To Be Luxury Apartments

A once-crumbling warehouse in downtown Bloomington is being turned into luxury apartments.

According to reports, the 100-year-building is the latest addition to the downtown's offering of high-end apartments. The renovation project is the result of an $800,000 investment by Joe and Ruth Haney. The building will be called 407 Upper West Lofts.

The Haneys own Haney Plumbing and Rental. They bought the warehouse building at a public auction three years ago for $46,000 - not too long after part of the building's facade crashed to the ground.

Joe Haney grew up on the city's West Side and he says that he found it gratifying to save what he calls a piece of the city's history.
