The holiday seasons is a busy time for one of Central Illinois' hidden gems.

Monticello's Allerton Park will see several major events scheduled throughout its' winter season. Matt Smith, with Allerton, notes while activity slows down during the next couple months, several holiday parties keep their staff busy in December. Private parties are available to the public throughout Christmas time and prove to be very popular.

Allerton's mansion will also see a Gingerbread House display throughout the holidays with entries still accepted though the 12th. Another major event is their Holiday Affair which is sold out for this year according to Smith. The park's final major function in December is their Breakfast with Santa geared toward the little ones of the community.

Smith explains Allerton's holiday schedule will wind down after Breakfast with Santa concludes just before Christmas. January will see more conferences at the mansion right before their Valentine's Day events begin in February.
