Local Energy Company Introducing Educational Campaign

A major DeWitt County corporation is taking part in a state wide effort to get the public behind their purpose.

Clinton Exelon Nuclear Power Station has joined an online petition asking for names and e-mail addresses that will show support towards nuclear energy. Clinton Exelon's Communications Director, Brett Nauman says any support they receive can go a long ways.

Exelon is a major contributor to many efforts and functions in Clinton and according to Nauman, he feels this has led to the public having a generally positive outlook towards the company, though he does question how much day-to-day knowledge they may have.

Economic issues are the biggest obstacles facing nuclear facilities at the moment and Nauman notes the survey will hopefully open doors for Exelon and other plants to find a voice within the state legislature in the future.
