Sheriff's Department Looking For Drunk Drivers Over Holidays

The DeWitt County Sheriff's Department will be cracking down on drunk drivers this holiday season.

Beginning December 19th, deputies will be out in force as part of Illinois' annual "Drive Sober of Get Pulled Over" campaign. The statewide crackdown will see high-visibility alcohol and belt enforcement throughout the DeWitt County. Sheriff Jered Shofner explains motorists will see the patrols throughout the holidays. He adds drunk drivers and those not wearing a seatbelt will see major consequences.
