Jewish Holiday Of Hanukkah Starts This Evening

The Jewish holiday of Hanukkah begins at sundown tonight.  Rabbi Shmuel [[ SCHMOOL ]] Goldin says it's a joyous holiday that commemorates religious freedom and spiritual rebirth.  Goldin, who's an honorary former president of the Rabbinical Council of America, says against all odds Jews were able to reclaim the Holy Temple in Jerusalem and avoid being converted.  That was a miracle, as well as the one-day supply of Temple oil that burned for eight days. Rabbi Goldin says that's why the candles that Jews light for eight days in a special Hanukkah menorah have become such an important holiday symbol.
