The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says over one-thousand people in the U.S. have been diagnosed with mumps this year. Recently, players on five different NHL teams have been affected. Doctor Camille [[ kah-MEAL ]] Sabella of the Cleveland Clinic says you could still be at risk of getting mumps even if you've been fully vaccinated.

The disease often starts with fever, fatigue and aches, followed by swelling of the salivary glands. The CDC says a crowded environment is a major contributing factor to outbreaks, which can happen at any time of the year.
