DeWitt County Sheriff Jered Shofner briefed the DeWitt County Board recently regarding the purchase of a pair of Dodge Ram trucks. He explains cost of ownership will be better than previously purchased cars because the functionality of the trucks will be better for holding more police equipment.
The effeciency of the truck was a major selling point. The trucks are four-wheel drive and according to the Sheriff they will get gas mileage that is equivalent to their traditional vehicles. In addition, they will also be safer.
The trucks will cost just over $79-thousand with $25-thousand coming from the police vehicle fund.
