Bradley, Illinois Win This Weekend

Tramique Sutherland scored 19 points, Josh Cunningham added 11 with 11 rebounds and Bradley defeated Illinois-Chicago 68-60 on Sunday night.

The Braves (5-8) led by as much as 12 in the second half, but surrendered a late run that pulled UIC (3-11) within two with 2:18 remaining. Sutherland answered with a jumper and a three-point play to make it 63-57 with 1:06 left. Cunningham sank three late free throws and Sutherland hit two to seal it.

Ka'Darryl Bell and Auston Barnes combined to go 9 of 12 from the field, with Bell scoring 16 points and Barnes chipping in 12. Bradley shot 46.3 percent overall and scored 15 points off turnovers.

Jake Wiegand paced the Flames with 21 points and Paris Burns added 12, with both grabbing seven rebounds. Marc Brown and Lance Whitaker each had 11 points for UIC, which committed 17 turnovers and went 18 of 43 overall.

 width=Following the thrilling, buzzer-beating Braggin' Rights win and a few days off for the holidays, the Illini came back to Champaign to bury the Kennesaw State Owls, 93-45, Saturday night at State Farm Center.

Rayvonte Rice was a perfect 5-of-5 from the field in the first half, having 12 points by the 13 minute mark and finishing with 16 points at the break, only missing one free-throw for the period. He finished the game with 21 points on 7-of-7 shooting, including two threes. He has now scored double-figures in all 28 of his non-conference games as an Illini.

The last seven minutes of the first half belonged to the Illini, with Illinois going on a crazy 25-0 run in a span of 6:21 and three Illini in double figures at the break. Illinois closed the half with a 36 point lead, 54-18 - the biggest halftime margin of the season, surpassing the 35-point halftime bulge against Coppin State.

Aaron Cosby finished with 13 points, his first game in double figures since Indiana State before Thanksgiving. Malcolm Hill went for 16 points and nine rebounds, narrowly missing his first career double-double.

Freshman Leron Black had a strong game off the bench, adding 8 points and 8 rebounds.

Illinois heads to Ann Arbor to open Big Ten play Michigan on Tuesday.
