Brouwer Nets Late Goal, Caps Win Winter Classic

Troy Brouwer lit the lamp with just 12.9 seconds left to play and the Washington Capitals beat the Chicago Blackhawks 3-2 in the 2015 Winter Classic from Nationals Park. Brouwer scored on a power-play after a controversial hooking call on Blackhawks center Jonathan Toews [[ tayves ]]. Eric Fehr and Alex Ovechkin also scored for Washington. Braden Holtby stopped 33 shots for the Caps, who improved to 2-and-0 in the New Year's Day event. Corey Crawford allowed three goals on 35 shots for Chicago. Patrick Sharp and Brandon Saad [[ sod ]] netted goals as the Blackhawks saw their two-game win streak come to an end.
