Quinn Strived to High Ideals While In Office

Echoing words spoken about his father, Governor Pat Quinn addressed to the Chicago Civic Club for the final time while in office.

Gov. Quinn has used his previous time in front of the civic club to talk about prospective legislation or the outlook for his year as Governor. On Tuesday, Quinn looked back on serving as Governor. Quinn, emotional at times, told the audience that he always remembered the words of his father’s naval commander and tried to live to those ideals while working as Governor.

Quinn still has business left as Governor. He has called a special session of the legislature for Thursday where he wants lawmakers to address the need for a special election to fill the vacancy left by the death of Comptroller Judy Barr Topinka.
