A national retailer and local economic development leaders are teaming up to find interested entrepreneurs to bring a national product to Clinton.
Sears and the DeWitt County Development Council (DCDC) are seeking potential business leaders who would be interested in operating a Sears store locally. Mark Killough with the DCDC explains the retailer has targeted Clinton as a market they would like to tap into.

Killough feels this could be a big development for the community. He explains this is something the community is in need of with recent stores like Sears having closed their doors. With a place like Sears locally, residents wouldn't have to leave town for appliances and other needs.

Representatives from Sears will be in Clinton later this month to assist the DCDC in finding an owner for the store. Killough notes Sears has not targeted a location for the storefront, but they will work with them and the entrepreneur to find a practical and price-friendly location.
