Local Lawmaker Looks Forward to New Illinois Administration

 width=Governor Elect Bruce Rauner will be sworn in today, and one local lawmaker is outlining the challenges the soon-to-be governor faces.

According to Sen. Chapin Rose, Illinois has been on a "12 year spending binge" and the short term outlook is not going to be good, but he feels it will pay off in the long term.

The budget is going to be challenge number one for the Rauner administration and Sen. Rose says while it is in bad shape, it is not irreversible.

Rauner is a very succesful venture capitalist and Sen. Rose says his entrepreneurial spirit is something that stands out to him. He feels Illinois is well suited for expansion in business opportunities.

Sen. Rose says the wild card of Rauner's tenure will be, can he work with Speaker Mike Madigan and Senate President John Cullerton. He is encouraged by the early framework Rauner is putting in place in his early efforts to work with the two.
