Fire Thursday Night Engulfs Clinton Home

Just before 8 pm Thursday night, Clinton Fire crews were dispatched to a home at 209 West South Street in Clinton.

Upon arrival, crews found a fire fully involved in the back of the home. The home was vacant however, it was under renovation on the inside from an owner who had just purchased it.

No injuries were reported.

Two Clinton Fire trucks were on scene and mutual aid was called in from Kenny, Maroa, and Wapella.

According to fire fighters, it was an older home, and the fire likely started from the bottom floors then spread up the walls to the upper two levels, and fully engulfed the attic.

Crews were on scene for approximately three and a half hours.

No injuries were reported.
