2015 will prove to be an eventful year for a local museum due to an important anniversary.
The Lincoln Heritage Museum on the campus of Lincoln College, will be commemorating the 150th anniversary of the assassination of President Abraham Lincoln this year. Museum Director Ron Keller explains exhibits from a Springfield group will make their way to Lincoln before the commemoration.
The Museum is also creating their own exhibit. Keller explains Lincoln's death weighed heavily on the United State's of America at that time and was perhaps one of the greatest tragedies in American history to that point.
The new exhibit opens this week and will continue through the rest of the year with more events to follow.
The Lincoln Heritage Museum is located on the campus of Lincoln College. For more information on exhibits and events you can go to www.lincolnheritagemuseum.org or find them on Facebook.
