DeWitt County HRC On Front Lines of Helping Recent Fire Victims

A couple tragic events in recent weeks have left several families and individuals reeling for necessary, every day items. In the wake of those events, one local organization has stepped up to help fill those needs.

A couple fires in DeWitt County haved affected several members of the community and the DeWitt County Human Resource Center is stepping up to help those affected by the unexpected events. Executive Director Lynn Scoville explains the Center has been available to provide the victims with necessary items they need.

HRC has assisted the families with temporary housing and Scoville stresses they hope to help to pick up where the American Red Cross leaves off. Along with housing, HRC is also stepping up to provide medications and other daily items for the victims.

Scoville encourages anyone wishing to make a donation to the fire victims to contact the HRC at 217-935-9496. Anyone wishing to donate food can also contact local food pantries.
