Friday night, Clinton High School inducted an alumni into their Wall of Honor.
Rachel Anderson Lyons was the lone inductee in 2015, and was recognized Friday night between JV and varsity basketball action. While honored, she hopes the recognition is because of more than just her athletic accolades.
Anderson-Lyons was a star track athlete, and says all her relay accomplishments were her fondest. As a track star in both high school and college, Lyons attended Illinois Wesleyan University where her senior year, her four-by-four relay team experienced the ultimate success.
Finding success in athletics wasn't Anderson-Lyons first priority in high school. She explains doing the same as young athletes seek out college opportunities is very important. She calls going to a Division-III school instead of a Division-I school was the best decision she made.
At Clinton High School, Anderson-Lyons was a member of the National Honors Society, graduating in 2004. She graduated from IWU Cum Laude with a degree in Business Administration. She then went on to graduate from Midwestern University with a Doctorate of Pharmacy and is a Clinical Pharmacist at Advocate BroMenn Regional Medical Center.
