The Weather Service says that while precipitation on Saturday afternoon will mainly be rain, it will switch over to snow across central and southeast Illinois during the evening, and continue in many areas overnight into Sunday.
Accumulations totals of 6 to 9 inches will be possible, with the higher totals north of I-74.
Gusty north to northwest winds of up to 35 mph Sunday afternoon and evening could cause some blowing and drifting of the snow.
