February is a month dedicated to celebrating U.S. Presidents and several claimed Illinois as home during their lives.
Illinois has ties to four American Presidents which include Abraham Lincoln, Ulysses S. Grant, Ronald Reagan and Barack Obama. Local activist Joe Alexander explains Reagan is the only president who was actually born in Illinois though.
Alexander has created a topic involving these presidents for various speaking engagements around Central Illinois throughout the month. He notes the major focus of the speeches will be Reagan and adversity he faced throughout his life.
Alexander has presented in Lincoln and Pontiac so far and will soon be in Forsyth, Springfield and Bloomington. For information on his speaking schedule, you can follow him on Facebook or find him on Twitter @Joe_Speaker.
