Maroons Fall At Meridian

The Meridian Hawks used a 19-10 advantage in the 4th quarter to storm back and beat the Clinton Maroons 64-57 on Friday night from Meridian High School.

 width=After leading 15-14 after one quarter, the Maroons trailed going to the half 31-26. A 15-4 run to start the third quarter put Clinton up 41-35, but Clinton could not finish as Meridian picked up their offense to close out the Central Illinois Conference victory.

Jacob Overton led the way for the Maroons with 19 points. Peyton McCubbin added 17, all in the first three quarters as he was held scoreless in the final period. Tanner White chipped in with nine points.

For Meridian, three players scored in double-figures. Judah Renfro led the way with 21 points. Drake Baker added 11 and Dalton Collins chipped in with 10.

For the Maroons, they drop to 8-17 overall and 2-4 in the CIC.

Meridian moves to 16-9 and 4-2 in CIC action.
