Redbirds Go 1-2 In Weekend Series At Arkansas State

The Illinois State baseball team's game at Arkansas State scheduled for Sunday afternoon was canceled due to expected low temperatures.

Sunday's forecast in Jonesboro called for a high of 24 degrees and a low of 21 degrees.

The Redbirds won the first game of the series Friday night, 3-0, as Will Headean and Steve Heilenbach combined on a two-hit shutout.

The Redbirds then dropped both games of a doubleheader against host Arkansas State at Kell Field Saturday afternoon. The Red Wolves won by scores of 13-4 and 11-5.

Paul DeJong homered in both games for the Redbirds while Mason Snyder homered in the opener. Daniel Dwyer tallied two hits apiece in both of Saturday's contests.

The Redbirds are in Cape Girardeau, MO next weekend for a three game set with Southest Missouri State.
