Report: Love III To Be Named Ryder Cup Captain

width=Davis Love the Third is returning to the role as U.S. captain in the 2016 Ryder Cup.  The Golf Channel reports the PGA of America has selected Love as captain for the matches at Hazeltine National Golf Club in Minnesota.  He's expected to be introduced on February 24th at the Honda Classic in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.  The 50-year-old was captain in 2012 when the U.S. relinquished a 10-6 lead and fell to Europe 14.5-13.5, which matched the greatest comeback in the history of the event.  The Europeans defended the Cup last September in Scotland for their third win in-a-row and eighth in 10 tournaments.  Following the loss, five-time major winner Phil Mickelson questioned American captain Tom Watson and praised 2008 captain Paul Azinger's winning formula.  Love played in six Ryder Cups as a player and also served as an assistant captain to Corey Pavin in 2010 in Wales.  He has 36 career pro wins, including one major championship.
