The St. Thomas More Lady Sabres used a 13-0 second quarter run to overcome a slow start as they raced paced Monticello 55-41 in Class 2A Sectional action from Hoopeston.
Despite leading 28-26 at the break, the Lady Sages could not overcome the Lady Sabres, who qualified for the state tournament last year.
Marissa McPike led the Lady Sages with 15 points and Janessa Pankey added 10 for Monticello, who has claimed regional titles in consecutive seasons.
STM was led by Lexi Wallen with 19 pts. Elizabeth Bristow added 14.
St. Thomas More will take on Bloomington Central Catholic Thursday for the Sectional title.
