Two open seats on the University of Illinois Board of Trustees are close to being filled.
Yesterday Governor Bruce Rauner nominated Ramon Cepeda and Jill Smart for a pair of openings.
Cepeda is a University of Illinois Chicago graduate and senior vice president at Northern Trust. Cepeda overseas commercial real estate group and is the managing director or the wealth management division.
Smart, a U of I graduate worked as an adjunct professor and a guest lecturer at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Smart retired from Accenture in 2014 as chief human resources officer.
