Remodel At CENCOM Office Looking To Future

One DeWitt County office is currently undergoing a much needed remodeling project.

The DeWitt County CENCOM office, located in the County Building, secured a grant thanks to the efforts of EMA Director Teresa Barnett. CENCOM Director Tony Harris says the grant is allowing them to replace outdated furniture in their dispatch room.

While the grant pays for the furniture, CENCOM has an agreement with the DeWitt County Maintenance Department to work on further remodeling. Harris explains the 911 board has also replaced the phone system to move forward in future 911 plans.

The remodel has also jump started CENCOM into keeping up with current technology needed for the 911 system. Harris indicates technology always changes and 911 is attempting to keep up with the many devices that could possibly call for emergency help.
