A group of Illinois Teachers’ unions and other special interest groups are coming out in support of a proposal to place an additional three percent tax on the incomes of people who make over one-million dollars.

But, the tax could backfire, according to the Reason Foundation. Illinois News Network has more:

The proposal would put a constitutional amendment adding the surcharge to Illinois’ tax structure to fund education on the 2016 ballot.
