The Illinois baseball will play tenth-ranked Oklahoma State for the first time since 1981 when they meet for a three-game series at Allie P. Reynolds Stadium in Stillwater, Okla., this weekend (March 6-8).
Illinois went 3-2 last weekend at the Chanticleer Classic, finishing with a 1.23 ERA and outscoring its opponents 14-8. The Illini suffered their first two losses of the season, both coming in tight one-run games. Ball State's winning run scored on a passed ball, while Kent State's winning run came home on a wild pitch.
Friday's game is slated for 4 p.m. followed by a 3 p.m. start on Saturday and a noon contest on Sunday. The Cowboys are 7-4 overall on the season after a rough start but have won six of their last seven.
The winner meets the victor of a matchup between Wisconsin-Stevens Point and Concordia on Saturday.
