A day after his first spring training start, Phillies starter Cliff Lee reported elbow soreness during an off-day workout.
Lee, a former Cy Young Award winner, was limited to 13 starts in 2014 due to a strained flexor tendon in his left elbow that led to two stints on the disabled list.
Philadelphia general manager Ruben Amaro Jr. said that the examination is precautionary due to Lee's recent history. Lee will miss his next start scheduled for Tuesday against the Tigers.
