It's budget time for one area non-profit.
The DeWitt County Development Council is aimed at assisting current businesses and also recruiting potential businesses to DeWitt County. Ruth Stauffer is the agency's Executive Director, she says right now is their budget time, so they are approaching their supporters about funding for next year.
With the certainty local governments are going to be cut, the future of funding from the governmental bodies is up in the air. Stuaffer says the fear of having their funds reduced never goes away. She says they continue to build relationships in hopes of gaining financial support from local businesses.
The DCDC is already running on a shoestring budget with no reserves. Stauffer indicates they have cut back in several areas, the DCDC board will continue to seek out those private partnerships with uncertainties ahead.
Stauffer believes they have great support from the entities they receive funds from. She feels they all work well together and are in constant contact with them.
