The Doctor John Warner Hospital board heard two presentations from a pair of hospital management firms during a special meeting at the Richland Education Center on Thursday night.

Both firms are under hiring consideration by the hospital Board and were dedicated to presenting relevant information to the Clinton community. Quorum Health Resources presented first and say they are committed to smaller rural and community hospitals. Regional Vice-President Tim Widner notes Quorum is experienced in decreasing "out-migration" to larger community medical facilities.

The Quorum team also featured Don Annis, CEO of Crawford Memorial Hospital in Robinson, who has worked with the firm since 1977. He explains Robinson's demographics are very similar to Clinton's and would fit well with Quorum. He also notes the firm has allowed Crawford Memorial to have low employee turnover and large employee satisfaction.

The second management firm presentation was by Alliant Management Services. They highlighted the many services they can provide to DJWH to staff and patents. Alliant President and CEO Tim Jarm (right) stressed the company provides education and networking opportunities in many different forms.

Like Quorum, Alliant is also dedicated to protecting rural and community hospitals. Jarm says Alliant has never had one of their hospitals close despite many rural hospitals being in danger of closing within the next few years. Jarm points out Alliant's group of hospitals are in the top 50th percentile in the county.
