Earlier this week, the US Environmental Protection Agency ruled the Mahomet Aquifer as a sole source for drinking water and a local senator calls the ruling a victory for the area.

State Senator Chapin Rose notes the ruling is far from the end of the fight, but he feels it is just another victory for all the people working hard to protect the Mahomet Aquifer from PCBs going into the Clinton Landfill.

Sen. Rose says the Mahomet Aquifer ruling by the EPA was just one of a long line of victories for his area this week. He points to the new engineering medical school the University of Illinois approved this week tha will partner with Carle Foundation Hospital. He says both are huge victories for his district.
