Richland Culinary Department Holds Scholarship Dinner on Saturday

The culinary department of Richland Community College will be highlighted in an upcoming annual dinner.

The 7th annual Scholarship Dinner will held this Saturday and the event is used to raised funds for the culinary department and be used as scholarships for students. The scholarships help students purchase needed items such as knives and uniforms. Chef Ryan Tucker says the event will feature ten courses and provides the students with experience in planning events.

This year's theme for the dinner will be " A Date in Time". Tucker notes the guests will be transported back in time to Paris, France in 1906. The menu of ten courses will feature authentic French cuisine that visitors won't be able to eat anywhere else in the area.

The students are a large part of the creation of the annual dinner. Tucker adds various alumni usually enjoy getting involved with the event also. He says the response for the event this year has been great and they may end up having to turn people away.
