LaHood on Dad and Politics

A family name might be headed back to the US Congress but the future candidate wants little to do with some of his father’s political decisions. Darin LaHood, the son of former Congressman Ray LaHood is running for the soon to be open seat in the 18th Congressional District. A seat once filled by his father, the LaHood’s are both Republicans but Ray ended his career in government serving in the in the Obama Administration as Secretary of Transportation. Darin says that like any family father and son won’t always agree on politics.

Governor Bruce Rauner will need to act soon. He has to set a date for a primary for the seat within 5 days of it becoming open. Aaron Schock has said he will serve in the House until the end of March.
