Former NFL Safety Gets 20 Years in Sexual Assault Case

width=Former NFL star Darren Sharper will be sentenced to 20 years in prison after pleading guilty to rape charges in Louisiana, according to a report.

The deal is part of a "global" resolution to settle multiple sexual assault cases against the former Pro Bowl safety in four states.

The New Orleans Times-Picayune, citing an unnamed lawyer familiar with the case, reported Monday that Sharper has agreed to plead guilty to two counts of forcible rape and one count of simple rape. He is scheduled to appear in court in New Orleans on April 6.

Sharper was sentenced to concurrent nine-year sentences in two other states on Monday after reaching plea deals in Arizona and California.
