>>K-State Dismisses Guard Foster

Kansas State has dismissed sophomore guard Marcus Foster and freshman guard Tre
Harris from its basketball program.

Foster led the Wildcats in scoring in each of his two seasons in Manhattan, though he
took a step back after a promising freshman campaign. After averaging 15.5 points per
game and leading KSU to the 2014 NCAA Tournament, he posted 12.5 points per game
while struggling with his shot as a sophomore.

width=Harris made 21 appearances in his lone season with the Wildcats, averaging 3.8 points
in 10 minutes per game.

Circumstances surrounding the dismissals have not been released.

>>Arizona State Fires Coach

Arizona State has fired men's basketball coach Herb Sendek.

In a statement released Tuesday, ASU vice president for university athletics Ray
Anderson cited the lack of competitiveness by the program as the main reason for the
move.

Sendek's squad went 18-16 this season, losing in the second round of the NIT to
Richmond. The Sun Devils were 9-9 in Pac-12 play.

Overall, Sendek went 159-137 in nine years at ASU, earning conference coach of the
year honors in 2009-10. He took the Sun Devils to the NCAA Tournament just twice, first
in 2009 and again in 2014.

In 22 seasons as a head coach, which also includes 10 seasons at NC State and three
years at Miami-Ohio, Sendek's record is 413-295.
