Maroa-Forsyth Optimistic About Final PARCC Results

Maroa-Forsyth schools are about to begin their last round of PARCC testing for the school year.

The first portion of testing was completed earlier this semester and everything went fairly smoothly according Superintendent Mike Williams. He notes students will have one last portion of the test this week which will not be as comprehensive.

PARCC testing began this school yearand assesses all third through eighth graders and high schoolers. High schoolers are assessed by the courses they are enrolled in. Williams adds the tests are based on Common Core and are computer based and the district is anxious to receive the results this year.

The assessments compare each school district with those that surround them. Williams says Maroa-Forsyth usually compares favorably with the surrounding districts and hopes this year will prove no different.

Williams feels most Maroa-Forsyth students have given the tests a quality effort and will bring positive results to the district.
