County Continues To Make Progress At Clinton Lake Marina; Animal Shelter Moving Along

width=The end of the year is a major deadline for the County as it relates to major work happening at the Clinton Lake Marina.

By the end of the calendar year, the Clinton Lake Marina has to be brought up to compliance per the American Disability Act, or ADA. According to DeWitt County Board Chair David Newberg, significant progress continues to be made.

While the ADA issues are the most glaring, Newberg notes there are several other issues that will need to be attended to in the near future.

Newberg notes the Marina will become even nicer than it was before, and says the Marina is still a highly sought after destination. He explains all their slips are rented out and they still have a waiting list for when they open. He calls it a good problem to have.

As for an update on the DeWitt County Animal Shelter progress. Newberg says in his final meeting before his resignation, Dan Ballenger brought plans forward for approval. Newberg hopes to have bids brought back for the May meetings to be discussed and possibly approved.

Newberg credits Ballenger with much of the progress on the animal shelter. He says his efforts and presence on the County Board will be greatly missed, as he now takes a seat on the Clinton City Council.
