Annual Post Office Food Drive Collects This Weekend

The local Post Office will be collecting non-perishable foods for local food banks this weekend.

This annual food drive is the largest held in the U.S. during the year. Butch Larson, with the Clinton Post Office, says this year marks the 23rd year for the food drive and will assist many local non-profit organizations. He also thanks the sponsors that provide donated food to the volunteers each year.

Anyone wishing to donate this weekend can put canned goods out on their front porch and your mail carrier will pick them up. Food can also be dropped off at the post office today, Saturday or even Monday.

Last year, the Clinton Post Office collected over five-thousand pounds of food. Larson notes that doesn't include other county post offices who participated.
