Clinton Art Show to Have New Venue in 2015

A successful art fair in 2014 will have a new venue this year.

The Arts at the Mansion event is the second year event hosted by the Arts Clinton, Ltd. which was held at the Clinton Antique Mall last year. According to Don Gruber, organizer of this year's event, they are shifting their venue to the DeWitt County Museum and will feature over a dozen professional artists from across the state.

During the planning stages for this year's event, Gruber indicates the Musuem asked if they would shift their site to the CH Moore Homestead grounds. He gladly accepted the offer and feels it's going to be a great venue.

A wide variety of art displays will be able to be purchased from vendors across the state. Gruber indicates they have artists coming from as far as the Moline area and hope to get around 1000 people through this weekend.

The art show will take place on Saturday and Sunday, 10am-5pm. Works will be available for purchase and visitors can meet the artists. Black Kettle Barbeque will be on site, serving barbeque sandwiches, chips, drinks and more.

Also, the museum’s annual quilt show, Quilted Keepsakes, will be taking place the entire month of June. Over fifty quilts are on display throughout the house. Tours of the mansion include the quilt show, house, carriage barn, and the farm museum.
