Three Tied For Lead At St. Jude Classic

 width=Brooks Koepka posted a 6-under 64 Thursday to grab a share of the lead after the opening round of the St. Jude Classic.

Koepka was joined atop the leaderboard at TPC Southwind by Ryan Palmer and Greg Owen. Koepka earned his first tour win at the Phoenix Open earlier this year, while Palmer owns three tour wins and Owen is seeking his first PGA Tour victory.

Brian Davis opened with a 5-under 65. He shares fourth place with Scott Brown, Richard Sterne and Steven Alker.

Defending champion Ben Crane had the lead after five straight birdies, but he bogeyed three of the last five holes for a 4-under 66. He was joined in eighth place by Tom Gillis, Fabian Gomez, Tommy Gainey and Alex Prugh.

Dustin Johnson, who was the highest-ranked player in the field, withdrew after nine holes due to an illness.
