Langley leads at Greenbrier; Tiger shoots 66

Scott Langley fired an 8-under 62 in Thursday's first round to grab a 1-shot lead at The Greenbrier Classic.

Langley, who is winless on the PGA Tour, owns just one top-20 finish in 21 starts this season on tour.

Jonathan Byrd and Danny Lee share second place at minus-7. Brian Davis and Ryo Ishikawa are one stroke back after carding 64s on the Old White TPC Course at The Greenbrier.

Kevin Na and Kevin Chappell are among six players that share sixth place at minus-5.

Tiger Woods carded a 4-under 66 and is part of a large group tied for 12th. Woods' 66 was his lowest score since the third round of the 2014 WGC-Cadillac Championship and was his best opening round since the 2013 BMW Championship.

Woods started on the 10th and parred his first two holes. He got up and down for birdie from a greenside bunker at the par-5 12th, then parred his next two holes.
