Clinton Community Educational Foundation Turns To School Board for Help

When parents go to register their students for school later this summer, they will have the opportunity to donate money to and learn more about an arm of the district that provides students expanded learning opportunities.

The Clinton Community Educational Foundation (CCEF) has for many years, provided grants to classroom teachers in the Clinton district and now they are hoping to expand on that role. According to Claudine Wargel, with the CCEF, they hope to seek out donations through the online registration process and get in front of more people in that time as well.

The most recent endeavor of the CCEF is to support students in the process of pursuing higher education. Wargel indicates they provide assistance for students to take duel-credit courses offered within the high school through Richland Community College and also in take entrance exams and preparation for those.

For around a decade, the Foundation has used fundraising efforts and funds from a generous former-Clinton resident to provide teachers the ability to expand their resources to reach students. Wargel indicates their classroom grants are their most recognizable trademark in the schools.

The CCEF is also responsible for the memorial wall that stands outside the sports entrance at the high school. That was a part of a fundraising effort the CCEF took the lead on.
