Florida State has dismissed freshman quarterback De'Andre Johnson from the football team in the wake of a June incident at a Tallahassee bar.
Video was released Monday by the state attorney's office showing Johnson striking a woman in the face. Johnson had been suspended indefinitely by the school in June after being charged with misdemeanor battery for hitting the 21-year-old woman.
The video shows Johnson and the woman yelling at each other and the woman lunging at Johnson with her left hand. Johnson then connects with a right hand to the left side of the woman's face.
According to the Tallahassee Democrat, the woman suffered a cut, bruises and swelling to her face.
Johnson turned himself into authorities on June 30, six days after the incident, after a warrant was issued for his arrest. He was released on $500 bond.
The 19-year-old was expected to compete for a backup spot in the fall.
