Illinois’ is in bad condition to take on any economic hiccups. That’s according to research from the Mercatus Center, a free market research group at George Mason University.

Among the various dimensions, the study put Illinois at Number 49 for cash solvency, Number 49 for long-run solvency and Number 50 for overall fiscal condition, all for fiscal year 2013.
