Clinton's First Christian Church Embracing Changing Times With Remodel

In an effort to make their facility both more accomodating and modern, the First Christian Church in Clinton finished an extensive remodel at their downtown facility.

According to Mark Behrends, their renovation focused on the youth area of the church and will provide them with additional space and more security.

According to Pastor Greg Taylor, the security side of the renovation was very important to them and felt as though there were some challenges in trying to be a secure and safe place for kids but also inviting.

Pastor Taylor explains this phase of renovation is part of a four-phase master plan. He explains they were focused on remaining debt free through the process even though it took several years to raise the money.

The rest of the master plan continues to focus on their children's area, the cable building and then focuses on adult classrooms and fellowship areas. Pastor Taylor says because they are committed to remaining debt free, there is no timeline to the rest of the plan.

Tuesday night at the church, they will open things up to the community to come in and see what is new. The open house goes from 6 pm to 7:30 pm.
