Kyle Busch Wins Second Straight Race

Kyle Busch took another big step towards moving into the top-30 in the point standings and therefore earning a spot in the Chase for the Sprint Cup championship by winning Sunday's 5-Hour Energy 301 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway -- his third victory in the last four races.

Busch, the driver of the No. 18 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota, moved up two positions in the standings to 33rd. He is now 58 points behind 30th-place David Gilliland, as seven races remain before the playoffs in NASCAR's premier series begin. Busch must finish in the top-30 in points when the regular season concludes on Sept 12 at Richmond in order to qualify for the Chase.

The race ended under caution after Alex Bowman hit the wall in turn 2 on the final lap.

Busch claimed his 32nd career victory in the series. He also became the 12th different winner in the last 12 Sprint Cup races at New Hampshire, a streak dating back to the fall of 2009. It's the longest active streak at any track in the series.

Keselowski, who won this race at New Hampshire one year ago, crossed the finish line in second. He led the most laps with 100.

Kevin Harvick placed third, followed by Keselowski's teammate, Joey Logano, who won the most recent race here last September. Dale Earnhardt Jr. completed the top-five.

Busch's teammates, Matt Kenseth and Carl Edwards, finished sixth and seventh, respectively. Edwards started on the pole and led the first 19 laps. Austin Dillon, Jeff Gordon and Kurt Busch, who is Kyle's elder brother, completed the top-10.

JGR driver Denny Hamlin placed 14th in this 301-lap race one day after he won the 200-lap Xfinity Series event here.
