City of Clinton Approves New Park Hours

The Clinton City Council Monday night approved an ordinance to put "hours" on the community parks.

In light of recent vandalism, the Council considered changing the hours from sun up to sun down. City Administrator Tim Followell indicates the parks don't offer much in the way of leisure past dark, so the ordinance addresses this.

The change in park hours for the City won't go into effect for another couple weeks. Followell indicates they want the community to be fully aware of the change, so signage will be put up at each park for everyone to see.

Mayor Roger Cyrulik points out this is also a response to vandalism at the parks in recent years and a way to preserve the upgrade to them.
