A midday rally Tuesday draws a few hundred supporters of the Illinois State Museum to the Capitol grounds.
Governor Rauner is seeking to close the facility. Among the most outspoken supporters was Jonathan Reyman, a retired State Museum employee, who served as curator of anthropology, he offered an unflattering comparison of the Governor to some of America's enemies abroad.
State Senator Andy Manar has sponsored legislation designed to keep the museum open. He called Governor Rauner out of touch on the issue.
Museum supporters delivered petitions supporting the museum with 11,000 names included to the Governor's office.
