Social Security is often viewed as an insurance policy for the disabled or a retirement fund for retirees but according to one official, many of their programs have the youth of the nation in mind.
Jack Myers with Social Security indicates children or parents who may be disabled or pass away are eligible for certain benefits. He explains they can be eligible for up to 50% of a disability case or 75% of a survivor case.
