The Senate has until August 13th to vote to override the veto with a super majority. If that happens, the House would then have an additional 15 days to override the governor’s veto. House Speaker Michael Madigan said he does plan to call an override vote in his chamber after the Senate acts, saying he has the votes. To date, none of the Governor’s vetoes have been overridden.
