Governor Bruce Rauner is once again pitching reforms, primarily a property tax freeze, with new legislation.
He is promoting the Local Government Taxpayer or Protection Act. Rauner is taking on a somewhat different tone, but similar message with lawmakers.
Rauner says he wants state legislators to take up a new comprehensive proposal including several of his agenda items as a package, not individually.
The legislation also calls for local control of collective bargaining, workers compensation reform, school funding and Chicago Public School pension relief.
